Cheated

Cheated

Why does one child walk,
another talk,
while still yet another
will say nothing
the rest of their life?

How much loss can be endured?
How many dreams dashed
against the rocks
before given any chance
of flight?

Anguish fills a mother's heart,
and I am overcome for the moment...
again and again in my life.
Jesus, my anchor in the storm.
The Lord my guide in the darkness.
My Savior,
who watches over my child,
and gives comfort
when none can be found.

Angels surround
and around,
keeping close watch on
the gifted, drifted from perfection,
and lost in rejection.

I can link with your poem, especially the final verse. I had one such son. Life can break your heart so many many times. Blessings to you Ann.

Yes, but if your child can not talk... or struggles... you will find a new pain you never knew you could feel... But then others... haha... Happy days... to you my friend. Ann

Very sad and beautiful, Ann. So many things are unfair, and we make them worse by rejection.

Not everyone can overcome their moment of truth... rejection is easy... acceptance... now that is hard, rough and even painful. Prayers for your days... Thank you Ann for stopping by... You are a fine poet... Thank you for your comments... Ann
