Chasing Lions

Don't mind me. Still there? ...Alright. It was hot. It was humid. My feet hurt. They carry too much weight. Just like my heart. I'm a winter baby at heart. I still dream. I just... It was so simple before. Loving was easy. Believing was easy. Trust was easy. Nothing is easy anymore. Loving is hard. Believing is hard. Trust is hard. I'm getting old. Lines decorate my forehead. Grays prosper in my hair. Children are my coworkers. I'm kind of stuck. Stuck in motion. Today is all there is. Yesterday is all there was. Tomorrow is all there ever will be. I'm a kitten chasing lions. Yeah, a kitten chasing lions... Heh. A kitten chasing lions. But when I finally roar... I will shake mountains. I will create tsunamis. When I roar... You will notice me. Believe me. When I roar... It will be with righteous fury. It will be with confidence. When I roar... The lions will take a seat. And I will stand. Stand for everything I believe in. That is when... Lions will chase me.
