The Whiskey Taster’s Flavor Guide

Champagne Cravings and Saffron Spice

In evening eyes an ember’s gleam I see
emotions ripple from your depths and spread
across your surface known to be glassy
are ripened waves of passion crashing red

Now crocus of your crave in bloom and flare
on bed of saffron petals - spice we seize
in festival of lust on my skin bare
a thousand tingles mingle pleasures tease

Your lips brush mine with strawberry caress
then kiss me deep your tongue unties my lace
I open up to you and your finesse
we toast with our champagne in love’s embrace

As ravishment reflects epiphany
amour I see through rosy tiffany

This poem is the difference between slow, beautiful love making and a hooker's account of lust and other things too crass for poetry. You describe lovemaking so subtly, and magically, for the first time I want to know the meaning of sonnet and saffron spice. Thank you for giving me a sensual peek into your soul.

Whoa! So sensual, so erotic---yet not prurient in any sense; rather, lofty, elevated, RISING in love!! (btw: I believe in rising, not falling, in love!). A remarkable sonnet. Willie (Shakespeare) is jealous! Bravo. :) gw

You write sensuality with such class and tenderness.. me I get carried away lol.. The third stanza is a little steamy, but you keep it classy, I did not realise it was a sonnet... The rhymes are good and it does flow very well...

Silent One, there's nothing wrong with getting carried away every now and then! ;) I've done so much free verse lately that I felt an urge for rhythmic and rhyming structure again, but it's only momentary as I have another free verse that I'm working on.. Thank you for your awesome comments my wonderful friend! I always look forward to your visits with great anticipation. Warmest wishes. ~Susan
