Chairs

One day out driving I did espy Two chairs that had been cast away. Into my boot they did get stored, For something to do on another day. Out back by my study, they stood forlorn, Seats in tatters, varnish cracked and worn. The seats they helped the fire burn, The varnish next was sanded away. Undercoat laid on the very next day, A couple of coats of yellow paint was applied Two nice blue tubs then filled with flowers In the seat space, to be admired for hours They now stand proud on our patio, I'm glad someone said they must go, Because now they are restored to life A pleasing sight for me and my wife. © Dave Timperley 03 March 2017
