Psalms 35:5
“Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the LORD chase them.”
You may be nice
You may be kind
You may offer your smile
You may offer your insight
You may give all you have
You may inspire and enlighten
You may write the best poem, pray the best prayer
Reach through the crowd to give someone your care
But, without Him – the only begotten Son
You will never see heaven! He is the reason we’re forgiven
And without that forgiveness, there is not even a chance for us
Without salvation, offered by the One who died for love
We will not enter into the life that is meant for those who believe
Those who know He is the king of kings, He is the reason for everything
He is the way, the truth, the life… He is the light that shines
So we can see, without Him, there is no reason
Without Him, there will be no arrival in heaven
Without Him, there will be only death and hell…
Where the darkness is forever, where the Son never shines
Where there is only doubt and despair – where there is no love
There is nothing there… other than the pain that is forever
Pain from knowing that you’re without Him, the only ONE
Who is worth anything to anyone… the Only ONE
Who makes a way for the soul to reach that heavenly home.
You may be nice – You may be everything you once dreamed of
But, without the Son to set you free…
You’re merely chaff to stoke the fires of eternal misery!
