Castles In The Air

Quote: Do you ever wonder why we build castles in the air? Perhaps, it's to soften the blow of a harsh world that never seems to slide nor adjust to our individual expectations. Ever since I was a little girl the blooming fields and goldenrods of nature held me captive in a spell Heartbeat moments of grace sifted through me at the most unexpected moments leaving transient gifts, in a playground full of magic ! A young impressionable child was I, held captive by the Holiest of things here and far beyond ! *** I remember the Angels fanning their wings turning my weightless body into feathers in a field full of daisies and floating castles in the air. It was in a carousel ride full of flying horseys, then one day I asked the Angels to take me home, "Let go child " was all they said, and then they flew away leaving me sitting there, me and my childhood whirligig !

Dear Rose, your poem beautifully captures the longing for a world of magic and grace amidst the harsh realities of life. Your imagery of blooming fields, goldenrods, and angels evokes a sense of wonder and nostalgia, showing the innocence and purity of childhood dreams. I loved the portrayal of fleeting moments of magic and the bittersweet realization of growing up tugging at the heartstrings, highlighting the delicate balance between imagination and reality. Wonderful!-Blessings, Daniel

"then one day I asked the Angels to take me home, "Let go child " was all they said, and then they flew away leaving me sitting there, me and my childhood whirligig !" -- sometimes angels seem more like mules than horseys...perhaps why God gave them wings...and not thoroughbred hearts like that of a gifted, enchanting child, dancing on clouds. Restorative read. Thank you.

I loved reading about your childhood innocence and the magical, almost mystical world that you created. Such a dreamy, nostalgic poem. I loved nature as well. I visited with the pixies every day and told them stories, all made up, of course. You and I would've been great buddies. I was the only girl in my family and neighborhood and was left to entertain myself. You would've been a delightful friend. Enjoy your evening, hugs & blessings, Sara

You are not the only one to build castles in the air, dear Vienna! They distract us from the realities of life, and often reflect our personal wants, wishes and dreams. In old age I still draw numerous blueprints for castles that invade the realm of my imagination! ~ Warm regards and hugs, my friend /x/ paul
