Carousel Dreams

I’d love to get a horse when I turn seven -
I’ll ride him in the sky way up to heaven.
Or I could get a puppy – I can name him
“Batman”! If he’s too wild then I’ll tame him.

I love when in my dreams I get to fly
Like superman, high up into the sky.
I look down at my friends and mom and dad
With brother getting all jealous and mad!

I may not get the horse or dog I’d like
Perhaps instead I’ll get a new red bike.
Maybe my dad will take us to the park -
I’ll ride my favorite carousel till dark.

A little strange seeing a 6-year-old writing in iambic pentameter, though!
