Carnival Dreamer

There are moments so bright they do not fade
I felt the excitement growing inside
In my hand the ticket for which she paid

The colors around her like an arcade
Sometimes it feels like this life is a ride
There are moments so bright they do not fade

Within the moment carried by the tide
Listening to carousel music being played
I felt the excitement growing inside

If there had been a way I would have stayed
I remember she was there by my side
There are moments so bright they do not fade

If I hadn't kissed her I would have died
When I found the courage I'm glad she stayed
I felt the excitement growing inside

There are moments so bright they do not fade
Within the moment memories are made
Life's possibilities are opened wide
I felt the excitement growing inside

I love the structure of this rhyme—it has such a natural and inviting flow, and rhymed words often appeared in my mind before I read them, which, I believe, sums up the genius of this poem.
