Card-Carrying Septuagenarian

Do colorful ducks get all my food a lot depends on my shifting mood If I feel sorry for a plain brown duck I might throw him more, to change his luck Does the best-behaved kid get this teacher's praise not necessarily, if his arm's never raised I encourage questions from inquiring minds not 'perfect kids,' who sit on their behinds As a card-carrying septuaginarian I'm just as proud to be a contrarian

The plain brown duck is a female, my friend - the colorful green and blue headed beautiful ducks are the males.

I have a heart for those shy kids…the ones no one notices…my sociology teacher I will always remember…he helped prompt me to think. I also think well behaved kids get the short end of the stick. One little girl was told by her prek teacher that she couldn’t be the wrong one since she never did anything wrong. Seriously, why would a teacher tell any kid that!! Love em all, I say. What do each need. Sorry I popped your bubble…lol. Thoughts?!

Actually, the bubble is still intact. Shy is alright, although the shy person who can't even ask a question is in trouble... 'Perfect little angel' is a smokescreen for problems. Often just an empty shell... Also, I was thinking of high school kids, not the younger ones. ~ Double Bubble

I loved this couplet, Gershon. I am an Octogenarian, and it is only over the last few months I admit to being ancient, and I am seriously thinking about changing my name to Mary.

I like your approach, gw. I do like those "inquiring minds."

Curiosity - the spark that starts the engine.

This is delightful, though I would give the perfect kid and the questioning-one equal status...perfection is not a quirk of nature nor a mere gift from God...it requires a lot more to achieve...though I doubt anyone has actually gotten there. No apology for my being contrary. Excellent write!

You mean... I'm the only perfect person in the whole world?! lol.. Thanks, Joe.

Well, G...as a rather reluctant octogenarian, I can only advise you that that final "quality" you refer to only gets more pronounced from now on. But, then, you've earned it, haven't you?

Just one question, Jim: You get carded often? lol. So far, I haven't been carded once in 2.5 years. A little disappointing. Guess I look my age, eh?! ~ Keep smiling, gw
