Captured - Sonnet

Cecropia, transported through the night
on satin wings lined white in their design,
hovers over innocence by moon’s shine.
A fragrant bloom has stopped him in his flight,
and on a petal he prepares to light.
He ceases fluttering so as to dine
on that sweet nectar of his valentine.
And I alone am witness to this sight.

The moth and orchid's union gladdens me
as wayside, I am frozen where I stand,
for what I've found, though simple it may be,
has purpose and is nothing short of grand.
Now captured by the beauty that I see,
I let my net slip gently from my hand.

Had to google the very first word but am now a less ignorant man than I was. And I've read another beautiful sonnet. You really have a feel for these. - Red

Well, so far Mr. Heck has picked all the perfect poems for his contest. I never wrote a Sonnet and this one is outstanding. If I ever have to write a Sonnet in the future you're going to be my mentor. With your permission, of course. Beautiful. Congrats on your #1 WIN in Mr. Heck's contest. Best wishes, KC

Smile ~ and also for myself once more, "Your Beauties," final few verses; especially the last two were as the icing upon the perfect cake so to speak within, "Absolute Beauty!!!" ~ i would also have to say that this truth most definitely does apply unto, "Your 'Majestic' Self My Dear; 'Intoxicatingly Mesmerizing!!!'" ~ a fave atop the cherished mantel of beautiful faves ~ love, Always, christopher ~

Smile ~ i read this very sweet and beautiful painting yesterday and thought how extremely soft and lovely it felt "My Dear, 'Precious & Beautiful Andrea Dietrich.'" ~ so i thought that i would rewind the moments journey amid its enchanting colours once more and, Yes, it is still magical and gently Soul stirring i guess one might say; at least it feels this way unto my own humbled self, dear gifted lady ~ Cont:)
