Captivation

Flutters of wings softly embrace the air as the pitter-patter of drums accompany I know not where.
Lifted gallantly ‘bove the trees my mind escapes close in pursuit,
And swishing through the floating dew which fogs the smothered thoughts,
Gleaming reflections of the sun’s pallor sends the sky afire-
A white hot schism to flare the soul.
Intensity thrives,
I cannot survive.
With a hasty cry to my knees I fall,
Arms splayed out as a ragged doll,
Too in awe to withdraw.
