Captain Obvious
She’s the woman in the white uniform,
walking with an authoritative gait
on the top deck of the boat
As you pass by, she asks,
without looking your way —
do you have what it take
to make her dinghy float
She says, it’s obvious one and one is two
She says, it’s obvious she’s attracted to you
Though you’re not normally shy,
you are taken aback
She’s like a rear admiral
making a frontal attack
She says, it’s obvious,
you’re both not getting any younger
... that time is getting short
She says, it’s obvious,
you both should try to get together
when the boat reaches port
And the longer you wait,
the further her boat is drifting from the shore
Captain Obvious couldn’t be more direct,
but you’re just too nervous to react
She’s a woman used to getting what she want,
she don’t respond well to a polite “no” or “don’t”
So now it’s fairly obvious to you,
she gonna keep working her feminine seduce
It’s so obvious what she desires,
anybody with one eye open can see obviously
But you don’t, because you think so naively
What’s not that obvious though,
she’s the most recent widow
on that Lonely Hearts Club yacht boat
