Caps

A beige sun cap was found floating in the lake where he was last seen swimming. A cradle cap lies with the sweet powdery baby scent still lingering in her empty crib. A blue baseball ball cap on wet pavement amidst broken glass fragments and bent bicycle. A green girl scout cap clinging to brush over the side of a cliff where sun dried grasses grow. A white graduation cap amidst the mangled magenta Mazda, broken beer bottle below the boughs. A veteran camouflage cap half burried in the desert sands, sun bleached, made in the U.S. of A. 7-28-17

Hi Connie, this is such a strongly sad write. This one does pull at the heartstrings and it does bring forth tears. Your creativity always manages to show in any subject you write of. What strong images your words do evoke in the mind. It did read as a winner Connie. An excellent, emotional journey. have a wonderful weekend. Hugs....Mike. XX

Deeply moving, penned with heart as only you can, Connie. The stillness felt after each 'cap' is a testament to your beautiful talent. Your words give tremendous pause with vivid imagery of the 'Life' lived beneath each cap. I have missed you and your writing, xo

So nice to hear from you John. I witnessed a little girl die right be for my eyes. They had been playing in our apt. complex on the stairs and she had a weak heart and they could not revive her. The worst part was watching her hysterical aunt and her mother softly crying, rocking herself. That happened over thirty years ago but it still plays clearly in my mind. I can see why soldiers are never the same after killing or watching death. One of my three lines is true about my newborn sister who died. Thank you for your complimentary words. : )
