Capricious Rain
Capricious Rain
The air was a hot slap in the face,
But there was an errand to be done,
Perhaps we could beat the threatening rain,
That was dark and determined to come.
Suddenly drops fell in quarter sized splashes,
Wipers struggled to erase them,
The errand barely accomplished, when
Rain drenched we headed home and then.
Into the driveway so safe and dry,
The rain stopped falling from the leaden sky,
It mocked us and said “You can’t out-fox me
I’ll pour if and as and when I see.”
