Can'T Say

I can’t say where life begins and death takes over: Oh! I know of birth and funerals-- what the church says and what my gut further tells me… but my heart often wanders above wings, parting shadows to a place alone where I encounter a loving presence my feeling no need to define... I have read those volumes both blessed and cursed tongued caramel ecstasy and licked the sacrificial fires (sweat-making chilies and artery clogging rinds of life) but remain mostly confounded though comforted somewhat by the little I know and concisely name-- admitting more of me has always existed outside my libraries of leather diaries and embossed references….

An excellent piece of poetry; had to "fav" it. I love these lines; great imagery in them. "but my heart often wanders above wings, parting shadows to a place alone where I encounter a loving presence my feeling no need to define..." and "tongued caramel ecstasy and licked the sacrificial fires"

There you go, James, blaming me again:) I'm certain, apparent by your brilliant poems, you have already lived several lives and given serious consideration as to man's place in time and his greater, ongoing, spiritual evolution. Blessings my friend!!

Maybe because we are not separate from the souce, you are all that dwells within the universal source as we all are connected by this same source, why how we treat others is a karma returned. Just my simple thoughts on the subject. I pondered your wonderful poem Joe. I feel our soul lives on and in death we transition into another realm. Blessings, Connie : )

Hi Connie; thank you for a thoughtful and enlightening comment. I believe very much in Karma and Reincarnation. It explains so much where the church falls short. I do not believe God means for us not to know, and to think of senseless tragedy as His Will. It is never His doing that any of us suffer.
