Can'T Handle This Blip

They shut off our power for about 3 hours To make needed repairs they say D'ya know how that affects our daily routine Like our arm's been cut off half way No heat, no lights, no computers, no telly We might as well cash in our chips Aware it was only from nine until noon But my mind can't handle this blip Anything different from my normal routine Throws me in a kind of a dither I get all sweaty and my eyes bulge out My speech starts to slip and slither I once was able to handle these disruptions When I was young, handsome and virile Now that I'm a slobbering vile old man My mental capacity has fizzled Some people suffer from a power shortage Every single day of their lives Got nothing to do with a disruption in hydro Their ageing is in overdrive © Jack Ellison 2013

You were missing for a couple of days, hope you are feeling okay! I guess we all freak out when the power goes out! We are so dependant on technology these day! Hugs, Jack xox

Ha ha, this is another one of your hilarious and masterful writes my friend! I really enjoyed reading this delightful poem this afternoon! Your lack of power has reminded me of times in the middle of the night when we lost power, and our clocks went off! It's amazing how much we depend on such a small little thing as the time of day! It drove me crazy! But I did enjoy the candles in all the rooms! That was fun! Anyway, this poem is another spectacular write of yours! Great Work!!

I've had a power shortage to my brain for years... Yoiu think that's bad... I have two teenagers going nuts when the powers out... One ran his phone down to nothing then told us to run the car so he could recharge his phone battery... At $4.00 / gallon... r.i.g.h.t... LOL

We used to have those strange people (teenagers) living with us! Trust me they eventually leave, hopefully before you're old and drooling like me! LOL
