Cannot Understand Cruelty

I rarely hate, because it always backfires on me. Causes me to feel anxious, stressed, sad. But I do hate hurting; when people are cruel to each other, to animals, to our planet. Cruelty is something that I cannot fathom or excuse. Why would anyone want another being – human or animal to suffer? How can they live without empathy, compassion, kindness, love for others? If there is one thing I hate I guess it is cruelty. What is her purpose? What is she to teach us? I wish she would go away forever. I cannot understand the need for her.

Writers who make sadism and cruelty the "bread and butter" of their novels and reputations should be denied publication –how's that for a tit for tat? / Maurice

Well said, why in the world and how can anyone want to hurt anything, any one? You have a beautiful heart Caren. I wish everyone felt this way. War would end, the earth would possibly heal? I hate cruelty as well.

Thank you BJ. I have to admit, it is something I feel we have no need for, I see no use for it.

Absolutely, there is no need for cruelty--and I include bigotry, prejudice, and bullying--in our world. Because they are rampant, we do not have peace!

Caren, I shall never get over the bullying I underwent in high school. I used to run all the way home, lest I get beat up. I thought high school would never end!

And they are all examples of it. I feel especially sad for those who are victims; I have friends who are still moaning about bullying that happened in grade school and they are in their seventies!
