Candle flame:

I watch a candle flame,
Steadily burning in my room,
In the darkened room,
Its shadows cast a spell of despair.

In a lighted room,
Stare into the steady flame,
Connect your mind with deep consciousness,
Spread your wisdom as candle flame spreads its light.

Sometimes, the flame flickers,
Like hesitations in our mind,
Shadows seem to be dancing on the walls,
Like the reflections of bygone past.

Once in a while, the flame wavers for a little,
Like sees the uncertain future around,
Ignores the deviations in mind,
Becomes the steady source of peace and joy.

I love Jay, that you delineated the metaphors of the candlelight. Candle gazing meditation, just another fine instrument for the mind. Favorite line is stanza three!! I'm faving~
