Can You Imagine the Pain

If you really want to help a child, teach her to read, listen to him read every single night, or go to a gradeschool and teach the children how to read as a volunteer. You will be welcomed with opened arms.
Words mean so much to those of us who are word dreamers, word-lovers,
word jugglers, word players, word-doers, But what about those of us who cannot read? Is it no wonder that our world is so different than yours? Can
you fathom the pain of watching others playing with their tablets, and cell phones? Can you imagine the horror of waiting for a teacher to call on me to read a sentence when I am in fifth or sixth grade, and do not understand any
of the squiggles or dots or lines? They mean everything to others, but
nothing to me. So I make as much of a nuisance of myself as I can
Before it is my time to read, hoping and praying
The teacher will get so exasperated
that she will throw me out of her
kingdom before reading class
begins. I do not want to
face the wrath
of my classmates
if they find
out and
make fun
of me....
"F......You!"
I yell at
the
tea-
ch-
er.
