Can I Be Your Son When Born Your Daughter

In realms of hearts that know no bounds,
Where love's tapestry is gently woven,
I find my voice, a whisper profound,
A tender tale of souls intwined.

Can I be your son when born your daughter,
In this dance of life, a beautiful twist?
A question, a plea, my heart's ardor,
To break free from the chains that persist.

For in the depths of my very being,
A spectrum blooms, colors divine,
A kaleidoscope of self, foreseeing
A truth that transcends rigid design.

From birth, assigned roles held so tight,
I question the script that was handed to me.
Why must I choose just one, day or night?
Why can't I be both, and simply be free?

In the tender gaze of your loving eyes,
I seek acceptance, unconditional embrace.
To cast away judgment, societal ties,
And let my spirit soar, finding solace and grace.

Can I be your son when born your daughter,
A tapestry woven with threads unique?
Together we'll navigate, brave the water,
With love as our guide, bold and meek.

For you, my dear parent, I long to find,
A haven of warmth where I'll forever reside.
Where gendered labels will gently unwind,
And the beauty of my soul will be dignified.

Let not society's norms cast us asunder,
Instead, let us forge a path of our own.
With compassion as our shield, we shall wonder,
In a realm where acceptance has firmly grown.

So, dear parent, let us rise above,
Embrace the essence that makes me whole.
In a world that will judge, let's choose love and let me go.
And together, we'll create a home for all these soul's.

Can I be your son when born your daughter?
In truth, I am simply me, a soul divine.
Let us walk together, through life's sweet water,
And let our love's legacy bring us all together.
