Ocean waves gently brushing the sand Wind whistling through an old window Sparrows in bushes chattering away Leaves rustling in the breeze Soft pattering of evening rain Babbling brooks A water fall There's nothing like listening to the calming sounds of nature to soothe a stressed soul

Those are indeed soothing words. To me, "soft pattering of evening rain" is my favorite sound, maybe because we don't hear it often enough. Just lovely, Anne.

this took me back to the years of living on the beach, thank you....i needed that....the calming world of living in the quiet, far away from the din of a hurrying world....i am planning to go off the grid with Abby and settle into that mental state...again, thank you for this poem
