Calm

Calmness is what my soul yearns for, waves gently kissing sandy shore, raindrops caressing roses' blooms breeze ruffling leaves as if to groom. Hints of honeysuckle's worn vine, breathing its fragrance, so divine. Wildflower patches make me smile, lilacs and pinks--so brief a while. Creeks trickling over mossy stones, to join a stream, its path unknown. Walking in forest, fragrant pines, one with nature, feeling sublime. To read a poem causing tears; lovely music snuggling my ears. To wake from a magical dream, finding calm--both icing and cream January 14, 2022 "C Form - Couplet Poetry Contest" Calm sponsored by Constance La France Syllable Counter: P.S. Syllable Counter

I just read your poem. It's interesting how alike our poems are--must be two great minds :) I find water so calming and yet I have none :) I live in desert--lots of trees and bushes, but no water, except in dribbles or torrents. But times I've been by lakes or creeks, I've felt peace. Take good care, my friend.

I see we think alike, Ann, I did the same theme for Constance's contest! I really like the vivid imagery of nature here, especially 'raindrops caressing rose in bloom' and 'creeks trickling over mossy stone' - nature is where I go for tranquility too! Best wishes for the contest~
