California Delights

10/18/2023



A California autumn, so warm, so good.
Such peace in our smiling, neighborhood.
Jazz music of Dave Brubeck fills the air.
A hungry cat comes, nestling on our stair.

Fresh, dark green, crispy salad, is our delight.
Oranges squeezed, making juice so delightfully bright!
We wash our hands and recite our traditional blessing.
Afterward, a dip in our pool, is a sure thing, not a guessing.


Come on down, let’s have some ecstatic, poetic fun.
You can ride your speed bike or perhaps, take a fast run.
My orange tree is taller and still in full, glorious bloom,
Lush, verdant leaves, prevent one from having an ounce gloom!

It was 97 degrees today! xoxo Panagiota Romios October 20, 2023 at 8:17 PM 87,yes, next week temperatures will begin to fall, Aww, this was not a picture I took, so, sorry, go not know if those are mimosas, I know you like SoCal. .Remember, I did live there when Elena was small. I liked Santa Monica, Beverly Hills! I had fun there missed my friends and had supportive relationships. After a few months, I longed for my friends in the Midwest, so we left CA. After a few yeats,we were a Back, in SF,LOL.that’s a lot of driving, 4 times! Never again, I was exhausted. Living here, changed my life,Ayana. Pangie.

One can drive to Lake Tahoe to ski in winter. No snow here. Mediterranean climate year round. Pangie xx

I wrote about CA in other poems. Friendliness and smiles are hallmarks where I live.it’s beautiful year round. Not at all a big city. My other fav about being here? The trees are never bare.
