By the Seashore

Listening to the soothing ocean, I Watch the waves crash the shore like a mad guy; My happy heart gives a contented sigh, God's been good to me through ups and downs, aye! Troubles stifling me like a tight necktie, All cast out when the sea like Lorelei* Called out to me, "Come down here, don't be shy", I feel like a mermaid, a charming fae**, Or maybe a sea-loving Samurai.
71 words 7th November 2022 *Lorelei - a siren of Germanic legend **Fae - A fae is a humanoid mystical creature that wields great power in magic and elementals; another word for 'fairy'. For Hilo poet's "Monomixorhyme" contest
