By the Light

Darkness shares no empathy
towards grief and pain
Solace cannot be aroused
when suffering prevails

if only there was a torch
to diffuse some light, hope would step in
Darkness would fall ill and become terminal
onset of recovery and healing would hearten

This flame will illuminate a new path
Spirits will begin to console the mind
Misery turns into tranquility
light is vital for life and now life has new meaning
