Butterfly Tears On Being the Best

It was a beautiful flower-filled sunset!
Mother butterfly could not find her daughter.
Oh, she was distraught, lookin from garden
to garden to find her before dark.

She found her precious daughter, on a deck railing.
Behind a red petunia flower.
Her daughter, with eyes full of tears whispered,
" I cannot be the best."

Mother asked next.. ."In what?"
"in the Spring Butterfly Flying Test."
" I tore my wing, you see, I can no longer fly as
fast as the rest!"

Mother replied, "Best is only a game butterflies
play!"
Each butterfly flies in her own special way."
Mother Butterfly said to her:
"That's all the Creator asks of you..to love Him.
And just be you.just be you!"

"The only best is the one who created you."
And daughter butterfly sighed a great relief.
They both flew home,in love and tranquility...
Over a sea of waving, friendly, glowing lilies.

I love how you use butterflies to explain this principle of life. It gives me something to think about when my flaws start to bother me. You are making me smile! BTW, the love from the mother is touching!

Superb and heartwarming piece my great friend. I myself have been writing a bit over four decades trying to regain wings that I never lost. As they were hidden until I needed to fly into my last all consuming skies. A fav.. a warm and inspiring gem too...
