Butter the Sky

I slip
into my robe
to boil water
toast my bread
and butter the morning sky

The color of sunrise
is very beautiful
perfectly clear
clouds in straight line

This contact with God
the friend of silence
I have just spent modestly
my times for today...

A very attractive poem about a typical morning. Your line of "...butter the morning sky" is very imaginative. It reminded me of the song "Ole Buttermilk Sky" by the late Hoagy Carmichael.
