Footnote:
Nature knows best:

Most people seeing a forest fire, automatically think blackened scenes of desolation, and destruction of trees and bushes - did you know that some plants and trees actually need fires in order to survive?  A number of plants rely on fire to release their seeds, eliminate competition or supply a rich layer of nutrient filled ash.

Forest fires rage Seed kernels burst from their cage Rain quenches – Seeds sprout

Yes its part of our reality Maria, the rest of the World seems to understand things differently.' If you don't clear and burn..Then the enviroment Will do it with a lightning strike...Yet the overgrowth will cause bigger bushfires than if The ground is managed.' You will still get sponteneous events.' Yet with managment its not so devestating.' All the best.'

So true. A lot of plants depend on fire to propagate. Nice haiku Maria!

Destruction of nature's habitat is hard to accept; but at least there is consolation that not all is doom and gloom! Enjoyed this poem, Maria. ~ Regards // paul

Good Morning Maria. Thank you for the education in your footnote. Yes, we usually think the bad and the destruction of a fire. But how could we not at first glance. Your entry is marvelous and in perfect form voice and tone. Honestly. You also deliver reality and a most intense scene. Well done entirely. Have a wonderful morning and weekend.

Yes, I do know that, about cleansing fire. It was an eye opener for me when I learned about it. It makes for a great haiku, in which the whole process is told in just 3 lines... Great poetry.

Thanks Darren, we had a huge raging bush fire that went on for days in the mountains, sad to see the blackened ruins, but several years later resplendent in its glory. Mother Nature Heals.
