I filled a small trench that yielded fresh water.
Built as a serpentine and with a sharp corner.
A small waterfall sang a melodious sound,
A lulled sleepiness induced when it hit the ground.

On each side of the rill, fair, watery plants grew,
A great choice of Algae. Ferns, a lobelia blue.
Fitful arrowheads and water lilies adorn.
Cardinals and others begin their flight in the morn.

Already prepared was a slightly large pond,
Well covered with cement mixed with soil beyond,
I planted some hyacinths and water lilies.
Soon, dragonflies waltz around like sillies.

My final job was planting a dwarf willow.
Don't be surprised, robins made it their pillow.

Dear victor first of all, i tried commenting on your nursery rhyme but it kept giving me error, secondly i love both the innocent and inspiring nursery rhyme as well as this! Your sonnet flows with such beautiful imagery! So captivating and creatively woven’ i especially love the line “ I planted some hyacinths and water lilies. Soon, dragonflies waltz around like sillies.” how stunning and your rhymes are as always so profound! Pleasure reading this poetic gem! Sending you light

Enjoyed this delicately rhyming poem, dear Victor. I can visualize this beautiful rill and the little pond you made with its edges covered with moss and plants and water lilies growing in them. What a beautiful ambiance you have created with birds resting on the willow tree and butterflies flitting around flowers.
