Bugs

Red bugs. Head bugs.
Bouncing on the bed bugs.
Yellow bugs. Fellow bugs.
Always greet with, "Hello bugs!"
Brown bugs. Gown bugs.
Fighting for the crown bugs.
Gold bugs. Bold bugs.
Very, very old bugs.
Grey bugs. May bugs.
Often have their way bugs.
Black bugs. Track bugs.
Don't like to attack bugs.
White bugs. Kite bugs.
Rather polite bugs.
Maroon bugs. Balloon bugs.
Irritate baboon bugs.
Blue bugs. Zoo bugs.
Never need the loo bugs.
Peach bugs. Bleach bugs.
Bathing on the beach bugs.
Pink bugs. Sink bugs.
Act before they think bugs.
Green bugs. Mean bugs.
Never, ever seen bugs.

Marikate Kingston October 5, 2021 at 6:41 PM Oh my goodness, I love, love, love this poem! It is so darn clever and you are so talented. It's so much fun, it would make a great dance for children if it could be put to music. When I taught kindergarten I used to read a picture book titled, Feely Bugs to the children. It was a tactile book. Fun Natasha L Scragg October 6, 2021 at 7:18 AM Thank you. I actually wrote a version of this when I was twelve. I wanted to challenge myself to write words that rhymed with the colours of the rainbow. The closest I could get to orange was blancmange so that's why peach is in there. Over the years, I've tweaked it. Maroon and Black, are updated features of the poem. Xx
