I have a fenced backyard, so I'm guessing they jump over the fence. We had a fawn born in the inside corner the year my wife was sick. She enjoyed getting to hold it before we put it over the fence. Momma could jump the fence, but baby couldn't.

They are only animals, and they have to eat.

I haven't been able to have tulips for a long, long time. They come up, bud, and the deer promptly nip off the buds. I love the deer, but I wish they'd leave my tulips alone!!!
