Neath sun-kissed skies at sweet springtime
leaves sprout and naked branches bless
with clothes of green that lifts the mood
from doldrums deep of winter past.
Like bulging breasts, the buds break forth
plump with the pistil and petals
waiting like a flag to unfurl
and bloom like a breathtaking bride.
The blazing ball her blooming breeds
each flower fair with fragrance fresh.
Then like a memory, she fades
as day gives way to evening shades.
Our lives are like the flowers fair
we bud then bloom and quickly fade.
Make it your goal fragrance to add
to those you meet whose lives are sad.
Then when your life on earth is done
the trail of good you have begun
will mark the way for those who run
and not grow dark at set of sun.
