BRUISED

Your poem is tight, emotionally concentrated micro-poem that leaves a lingering ache. The imagery is clean, the metaphor is strong, and the emotional clarity is immediate. It’s the kind of piece that says a lot by refusing to say too much. Hi CayCay, I do have other poems written for my boy, they're not gender based though. And he's no longer a boy, that child grew up, in fact I feel like a midget around him, and he's married now to a beautiful young lady.

So visceral, CayCay! Your words leap off the page to grab my heart like a boa constrictor slowly squeezing life's flow! So wonderfully visually. Best wishes for the contest. Happy Valentine's Day! Blessings!!

Separation can be devastating, hurt and disillusioning in the transition period, but a seed to new growth. May all pain be followed by growth and fulfillment, my friend. Smiles ~ Blessings Your poet friend in Texas, Bill

How descriptively you tell us how bruised your heart would feel if a loved one left you. Cay-Cay, love and hugs to you. Jennifer.

Hurts terribly, doesn’t it? Just as much as when we were the one who had to leave.

When that happens your whole world comes crashing down, it takes time to recover from that. Good luck in the contest CayCay. Tom

Hello CayCay, bruises, blows, and cuts heal with time and become memories and lessons. Life moves on and doesn't stop for anyone's pain or happiness. Best hope & wishes dear poetess.
