Brother-Sonnetina Rispetto

Brother, you who holds the candle
Like an easy task to handle
Never look for any credit
So you are an unsung hero
Stoic you show no pain, zero.
As the eldest you just do it.
Brother, you who holds the candle
Like an easy task to handle.

You always hold your head up high
Sacrifice without sound or sigh
Never look for any credit
As the eldest you just do it.
Brother, you who holds the candle
Like an easy task to handle.

A beautiful winning poem and tribute for your brother. Recognizing the strength and quiet courage it takes for the eldest to hold everything together says something great about you Maurice! I was moved by your poem. My eldest brother was a blessing to our family. I am so happy to see this poem take top honors. Congratulations!

I like this discription of your brother. He sounds like a stand up guy. I also sense your warmth towards him.

Maurice, I like how you did a true "rispetto" that honors someone. That is what this form should be used for. If your brother is the one holding the candle and doing so much, OMG, he must be a saint , because I already think YOU are the stoic one in your family!!
