Broken Wing
I had a broken wing, or so it seemed.
My husband treated me so bad.
I was so sad.
I often thought that I should die.
Perhaps if I said goodbye,
all would be well.
He could live here once again.
Perhaps find a new friend,
to mother my children.
Somehow I pulled through.
Then I found you,
Poetrysoup.
I have opened up my heart.
Right from the very start
I began to heal.
My friends here have listened well.
All have been compelled
to comfort me.
My anger has evaporated.
All has dissipated.
I am restored.
Now my broken wing has healed.
I want to tell you how I feel,
my Poetrysoup friends.
From the bottom of my heart,
let me try to make a start
to thank you.
Such generous people open armed .
I am completely disarmed.
Thank you all.
