Broken Perfection

Broken Perfection
Remnants of Eden in scattered shards
Whimper in whirlwinds of betrayal, death,
Sacred bits of perfection, broken, scarred,
A garden fades, lost in a single breath.
Rags of memory mourn the mystery -
Strolling in the cool of dusk’s purity -
Evening tears try to re-write history,
Reveries blinded by obscurity.
A limping soul, drained of ecstasy,
Weeps like a teardrop in a sea of sand,
Ever haunted, living in fantasy,
Returns, rejoicing, from the dry wastelands.
Into the deepest dreams, Eden still speaks
Through ruins, rubble, covenant to keep.
