Broken Perfection

Contest: Addressing the World with Your Divine Gift Poetry 11-8-24 - Dated Judged: 12/4/24 Broken Perfection Remnants of Eden in scattered shards Whimper in whirlwinds of betrayal, death, Sacred bits of perfection, broken, scarred, A garden fades, lost in a single breath. Rags of memory mourn the mystery - Strolling in the cool of dusk’s purity - Evening tears try to re-write history, Reveries blinded by obscurity. A limping soul, drained of ecstasy, Weeps like a teardrop in a sea of sand, Ever haunted, living in fantasy, Returns, rejoicing, from the dry wastelands. Into the deepest dreams, Eden still speaks Through ruins, rubble, covenant to keep.

I didn't really understand the point of the sponsor's contest. But maybe yours is what she wanted. You certainly wrote a sonnet with great imagery

Thank you so much, Andrea, especially for your support and feedback. I, too, hope this is what the sponsor was looking for in her contest - maybe a recognition, an acceptance, of the dark side that impacts us every day. However, that being said, while acknowledging that darkness I couldn't let it overtake the power of the light, goodness and grace which, in my heart of hearts, I believe overcomes darkness in every way and on every front! I Sending you blessings and my gratitude.

Hi Laura! I am so grateful for your perceptive, ever thought full feedback! We are, indeed, fractured in our brokenness yet, through the image of Eden, still living in us, remnants of what we once were I believe lead us to seek a perfection through freely given grace. Thank you for sharing in this faith inspired journey! Sending you warm blessings of joy!!!

Dear Sam your outstanding poem delves into the issue of loss and desire, musing on the vestiges of a once-perfect paradise (Eden) that now only lives in fractured recollections. It portrays a strong desire for a return to purity and beauty, coupled with the agony of betrayal and the burden of history. Really enjoyed reading

Dear Sam, Such a masterpiece of emotion and imagery. The way you weave together the loss of Eden with personal heartache is truly moving. I loved all your words because, for me, you captured the universal human experience of loss and the enduring search for redemption. Absolutely beautiful! Autumn Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Hi Joe! I so appreciate your feedback. It is thought full and I really like your perspective many aspects of the poem like which history do we want to re-write! So often I have seen, felt, and experienced, the heart of remorse - the inability to change history. Thank you so much! Sending you blessings of autumn joy and hope!!

Hey Sam your Sonnet poem resonates as a contemplative reflection on humanity’s sense of loss and exile from an original state of unity and purity. By portraying Eden as a place both eternally lost and eternally remembered, the poem suggests that paradise is not entirely gone; its remnants and “covenant” endure in subtle whispers that speak to those willing to listen. Ultimately, the poem captures the bittersweet nature of memory and hope,as Eden’s spirit persists within the heart, both guiding and haunting the soul in its quest for meaning and redemption.

Hi SO. You really got to the heart of this poem - loss and the hope of redemption through "remnants of Eden" that still exist in our dreams and our desires to recreate a perfect garden of life through a covenant life! You said it perfectly - a "haunting" experience. Thank you so much for your "soulful" and ever so thoughtful feedback! It is so appreciated! Sending you blessings of autumn joy!
