Broken Like a Tree Er Haider Khan

She broke me like a tree, With leaves so green and branches free. Her words were warm and kind, And her faces wore the same design. I cannot call her characterless, For I respected her nonetheless. But she took my worth and brought me down, With fears of someone I didn't know in town. I held onto her without a cause, But now I see the flaws. She used me for her gain, And left me in endless pain. Now I stand here, broken and alone, Wondering why I didn't see the unknown. But I will rise again, like a tree, Stronger and wiser, with branches free.
