Broken Angle
A punishment…
So sweetly sickening it saddens me,
Oh, beautiful angle!
Was it truly your time?
The answer I’m not quite sure,
You lay there damaged,
Like a broken wind chime,
No song to sing no more.
Your severed wings bent so oddly,
Shattered glass glitters in the sun around you,
The liquid that once held you safe,
Does naught but drown you?
Be careful!
The edges of your smashed dome,
They might cut you!
Even more than the lying tongues of men.
Was your fall as glorious as Icarus had promised?
Or was it only a serpent’s call?
You might regret for eternity.
