Broken

I was broken once
But now I'm not
I Pray for my innocence
Of now I'm not
He followed me there
And I stood not
He took me down
And broke my soul
He left me there to rot
So cold the river runs
I float lightly on the current
All I seek now is my salvation

And you shall have it. I am amazed at the pain you have been through. I do like and appreciate your poetry. It is a gift for us all. Thank-you. I will read them all as you can see, I am making slow but steady progress. I have to go to our nation's capital next week. But I will be back after that and continue. You are a beautiful spirit.

I like sad poems, Debbie. This one was very interesting and filled with feeling. gosh, it does not relate to the last poem I read about the lost love, does it?

Simply worded, and very descriptive. Most of the time, you don't need a lot of words to express good ideas.

And that my dear will come in time... In simple words "Life hands us crap" but its what we do with it and who we become is the test.. Just my thoughts..
