Bring On Fall
Today the breeze can make me believe
that Summer's heat is now in the past.
From this season we all need a reprieve.
Please bring on Fall at last
as Summer takes her final blast.
Late starting, the Summer made up her mind
to bake us all where we lay.
We await a season more gentle, more kind.
So Summer, please be on your way.
We long for a fresh Autumn day.
To once again sleep with soft blowing breeze
and air not so cruel and dry.
We've waited impatiently for some ease
of the temperatures that climb so high,
while praying for some rain from the sky.
The parched earth burned, as did we all.
Summer fires filled us with fear.
Now above , I hear the geese call,
telling me Autumn is near,
with rains to wash everything clear.
