Breathing
Writing my poetry is like breathing,
the words fall onto the page with a sigh;
they inhale and exhale gasping for life,
and finally breathing and whispering.
Each poem has a trace of me within,
the words murmur of loss, sadness and grief;
their breathing often intense and gripping,
but, sometimes my words are gentle breezes.
My poems are written to inspire you,
to utter a message about this life;
often, they have long pauses of silence,
but, they are breathing- just listen deeply.
Poetry can be long or short winded,
hints of ardent love, passion, devotion;
my quiet words can fly away like birds,
breathing- we will endure, we will survive.
