Breathe

Frozen, anesthetized sedated and deadened
Cocoon of pain
My energy drained

Whenever I see him I try to hide
That I know the pain he is feeling inside
I know what you did to him
I know what you said
The feelings in my heart have filled me with dread

I’m a woman of faith
How can I hate
A child of the light

     But
      if
      I
     saw
     you
   tonight

God heal my heart
Heal my child
Remove this torturous dart
And make his pain mild

I know that you will call me to forgive
I know that if I don’t this pain I’ll relive
But now Father just let me breathe

This is such a powerful write full of heartbreaking emotions I'm sure. This was so well written and sad yet it had some hope too. Blessings, ~Michaela~

Laurie....you are a better person than I am. Finding a way to forgive in a situation so difficult...makes you a solid woman. Thanks for the comments! However...there are no women to swoon here....I am a man with a fork in a land of soup!! = ) Glad you like it though!!! Much love, Steve

Laurie, this is a really powerful write. It is hard to feel that way but you are a chlid of Christ and I know you hate the action of the of person (so different than truly hating) and God knows your loving heart and will let you breathe again. Awesome write, Laurie! Love and a BIG HUG to you, my friend, Robin

Laurie i can hear the voice in this piece wanting a moment to exhale and rest. Your poems are filled with so much of your heart and they display a lot of emotions. Terrific job and thanks for taking the time to read my work. Love, Chris.

Words - sounds of the soul with the power to break a heart or make it whole. I hope this is all resolved. Love, Lainie

Must have been something extremely traumatic. Hope your prayers are answered. Glad you can write it out. Remember, for the most part children can be pretty resilient, while our suffering as adults seems to linger indefinitely. Hope this is the case for your child. Good luck. Love, Shar
