Breathe

If I could breathe you away like a feather in the wind. Would that signal the end Or a new chapter to begin? Would that bring an end to the pain the endless tears I’ve shed Or would it signal a fresh start And a new life to be had? Could that bring new meaning new direction, new life Would that cement that you’re gone And no longer my wife? Or would it mean that there’s hope For a brighter, better us Now that I’ve learned to feel in this process I trust What we’ve missed all these years all our hurt deep inside Stepping toward you now I can no longer hide When the person I’ve lost has really been me So much learned, so much gained finally set my soul free If I can breathe you away I don’t know what I’d do Cause this world isn’t the same Not without you.
