Breakfast of Champions

The most important meal of the day Is a healthy breakfast, If nutritionists are to be trusted. But "healthy" depends on one's point of view, So that bubble's about to be busted. How do chickens and pigs figure into the plan, And what's the value of their contribution? And how much credit should each one get For cholesterol and protein distribution? In a hearty breakfast of ham and eggs The following must be admitted: The chicken is more or less involved, The pig is fully committed.

Guess now I know why I haven't eaten anything but a banana for breakfast for 45 years. :) gw

Thanks, G. Maybe you should consider selling shares in potassium.

Hm! I almost never eat breakfast, but today of all days I had an egg McMuffin which my husband blessed me with, it was a sweet gesture, but the ham actually irked me, and I nibbled around the outside of the delightful buttery biscuit. I also was gifted a nice crispy hash brown, it was delicious, but I thought about all the artery-clogging oils and thought hm! Tasty, but healthy is possibly a stretch! Imagine my surprise as I read your poem with that half-eaten breakfast on the table before me!

BJ, thanks. I know what you mean, and yet, I still can't quite wrap my head around an omelet made of only egg whites.
