Brave and Broken

I've travelled aimlessly Found myself lost to the streets My heart screams for survival I'm further from victory as I drown in my own tears. Love gave me promises To have and to hold Torn and tainted was trust Air shortened of breaths I'm a friend to defeat. Guide me to righteousness I'm clueless for aim Uncover my shame Clothe my innocence I live to learn again. Cater to my brokenness I thirst for better days Water me down to safety Hold still to my bit of strength I need a second chance. 18 June 2022 2022 Poetry Marathon Mile 3 Sponsor: Mark Toney
