Every day at 2:30 p.m., Dr. Ngozi Ezike, Illinois' Director of Public Health, reads CV-19 statistics: new deaths, new cases, # on ventilators, etc. She's now a bona-fide TV star. This poem is directed to (and at) her.

Sing this to a cheerful melody: How many people died today How many people died How can you even sleep tonight Knowing you didn't cry How many are on ventilators Fighting for every breath Keeping your TV gig secure Their fights all end in death How many tested positive How many cases today Maybe instead of reading the news Just bow your head and pray

I love the cheeriness of this upbeat "death song" so much fun! I shall be singing it from now until forever. Smirk. Smirk. I dare say I had not heard of this show, and will not be tuning in.
