Born Sleeping - For Sharon's Contest

Ten perfect tiny fingers and toes
Only you were born sleeping
Uncontrollable tears flow from my eyes
Caressing your beautiful face
Heartbroken parents are grief stricken

Touch me with words contest

Deeply touching and sad my friend. A definite winner methinks. Good luck in the new contest.. You always write so marvelously.. Having had two such babies born many decades ago(my first son and three years later my first daughter), I felt this deeply...

Oh Robert I am so so so sorry you can relate to this on a personal level, I can't think of anything more painful that the death of a child at any age:-(As a total novice to poetry I have learned so so much since I joined soup in Feb 2014 and have written over 1400 poems in a relatively short time - I think I'm making up for lost time lol:-) Hugs Jan xx
