Born Out of My Time

Sometimes I ask, what if I had been born sooner than I was? If I would have been born say, 1893, in stead of 1943, the history I would have seen. Would have seen baseball in its glory years, Ty Cobb, Walter Johnson, Cy Young, and of course the Babe. Would have been there as motion pictures were coming into their prime, Charley Chaplin in his derby and cane. Wright Brothers in their hey day, if I knew then, what I know now, oh the things I could have done. Born out of my time, maybe, but in my life I have seen many great things take place, so who knows what would have happened. wrote 9-26-08

Sometimes I wonder what if I was born in a certain time period how would I be. I personally wish I was around fighting with William Wallace(love Brave heart), or maybe a foot soldier for Martin Luther king. I love this piece because I escaped momentarily into another world. Great job.

Lovely and deep-thoughted poem. I wish I was born later to see all the success from the past glorify into the future. I am born 1992, and what I have seen so far doesn't seem as amusing as you listed in this poem. Lovely write.

Well, this is the ages old question of when is the right time. History has its place and time. Now is the time to leave our contributions on humanity for the goodwill of all people. I like the essence of the poem. Great job! ~Joseph
