Boomer Me and X, Y, Z

Still going strong, the Boomers are
in golden years. They have come far.
The new Gen X then came along.
The Boomers are still going strong.

Kids with latch keys, safer with sex,
then came along the new Gen X.
How they do thrive, like the Gen Z’s,
Safer with sex, kids with latch keys.

The great Gen Y, they sure have drive.
Like the Gen Z’s, how they do thrive.
It’s a new day. We watch time fly.
They sure have drive, the great Gen Y.

Now Alpha’s here. High tech are they.
We watch time fly. It’s a new day.
What possibly will next appear?
High tech are they now Alpha’s here.

What an entertaining subject for your poem. How life has changed since as a child we didn't even lock doors. Now everything must be secured with locks and passwords and double authentication and still people believe what is yours they can take for themselves.

Congratulations on your win, Andrea! I didn't know you can start a new sentence within a line of a quatrain. Fun Fact: According to Shindig! magazine, the term "flower child" was coined by Californian DJ Lord Tim Hudson in 1967. Hudson stated "Anyone aged between 15 and 30 is a flower child". "March of the Flower Children" by The Seeds, just heard the march song for the first time.

Congratulations dear poetess on your top win in this contest with a cute double swap poem on the Boomer, X,Y and Z generations. A reminder thtat time flies fast and with constant changes and innovations, we have to adapt with time and changes or be swept aside off the road. ... I had written mine more than a week before closing date, but forgotten to enter the contest, I would keep that poem for another time if occasion appears. ...Wish you a shining day moving on the journey of life.

Makes me think of the generations…with age, we get to see the changes. I love that you say we are still going strong…but for how long…lol. I will take every minute. Saw my brother yesterday. His gait was shocking…looking more like my Dad’s…the beginnings of latter years. My brother will be 65 soon. We are 11 months apart. I’m older.

Which ones for millenials sweet andrea? Well boomers can be cool but what I dont like about boomers is they dont like texting! They prefer calls! So Gen Y would be Millennials. That's what you are, right? My daughter and son are Gen x. The latch key kids. Haha. I let them run wild outside. We didn't usually worry about our kids in the 70s and 80s. What I don't understand is why people hate phone calls so much. I am texting more now but I do it only with my right index finger because I can't figure out how people do it with thumbs and gen y is so much faster at texting

Good day Andrea Like Joe I'm a dinosaur born in 1948. I never refer to myself as a Boomer All these government organisations using every possible method to divide people . Age, sex, etc etc. Disempowerment so we can be conquered Divide generation by giving names Blessings Douglas

It's just alphabet soup to me, to tell you the truth. I have not followed any of this, though you do present the topic quite knowledgeably. By my own admission I am a dinosaur. Very entertaining, Andrea. "High tech are they now Alpha’s here." -- safer, all remote sex my guess? Good luck in contest.

You may be a boomer. You are not born before '45, are you? The brand new babies are called Beta (coming affter Alphas) . I think baby boomers got to see the best of two worlds before things started going to crap.

yes, out of the box for sure. I just got interested in the different names given to each generation, and I wanted to use this double swap challenge to try to show the differences and similarities.
