Written for my granddaughter and nephew
who begin their college life this week.
BOOKS AND SHELLS
books and shells -
memory stuff,
sandy
toes and smart eyes.
college girls and boys
drink it up,
not beer -
wisdom’s cup,
so you can
top your class.
be beachy
when it’s time to rest,
but remember your class,
YOU
erudite scholar.
